CANAVERAL NATIONAL SEASHORE
BOAT LAUNCHES
There are seven boat launches within Canaveral National Seashore, five within Merritt Island National Wildlife Refuge, and one at River Breeze Park, a Volusia County boat ramp that comes in handy for accessing the backcountry campsites on the west side of Mosquito Lagoon. Unless noted, all can accommodate motorboats, canoes, kayaks, and other hand-paddled watercraft.

MERRITT ISLAND NATIONAL WILDLIFE REFUGE BOAT RAMPS
Haulover Canal Access Road
Hand-paddled watercraft only, no fee
There is a fee to use the boat ramps at Merritt Island National Wildlife Refuge, and this fee gets you a pass that is good for the day at any of the fee-based facilities within the Refuge. You can pay at the self-service kiosk located at the boat ramps, but you cannot get change if paying in cash (checks are accepted as well). If you need change, you must get a pass at the Merritt Island National Wildlife Refuge Visitor Center. I recommend first stopping at the Visitor Center anyway just to get basic information. National Park Service annual passes, Duck Stamps, Canaveral National Seashore passes, and annual Merritt Island National Wildlife Refuge passes are also good for using the boat ramps at Merritt Island. Annual passes are on sale at the Visitor Center. Note that no credit or debit cards are accepted. At the time of this writing the fee is $10 / day, but be sure to get the latest fees on Merritt Island National Wildlife Refuge’s Visit Us web page.
