CANAVERAL NATIONAL SEASHORE
PICNIC AREAS
There are no large picnic areas at Canaveral National Seashore or Merritt Island National Wildlife Refuge. The only picnicking facilities available are a few tables where visitors can sit and have a bite to eat. There are no grills.
CANAVERAL NATIONAL SEASHORE
Apollo Beach Visitor Center
A covered pavilion with six picnic tables is located at the shore of Mosquito Lagoon next to the boat dock. With the breeze from the lagoon and shade from the pavilion, this is a great place to have a picnic.
Apollo Beach Boat Ramp #1
Three picnic tables are located to the right of the main boat ramp in the same area as the canoe launch. The area has its own parking lot.
Eddy Creek Beach Boardwalk (Playalinda Beach)
A covered pavilion is located at the top of the boardwalk that leads to the beach across from the Eddy Creek Boat Ramp and beach parking area. There is one long table with benches on either side, plus another two benches without a table.
Castle Windy Trail
A lone picnic table on a cement pad sits at the end of the Castle Windy Trail overlooking Mosquito Lagoon.
Turtle Mound Trail
Two picnic tables are located along the shore of Mosquito Lagoon near the Turtle Mound Trail boardwalk.
Seminole Rest
A few picnic tables are located on the grounds of Seminole Rest.
MERRITT ISLAND NATIONAL WILDLIFE REFUGE
Visitor Center
Four picnic tables are located on the left side of the Visitor Center and three more are near the parking lot.
