Kayak launch area at the end of the Haulover Canal Access Road in Merritt Island National Wildlife Refuge
See the Boat Launches web page for an interactive location map.
At the end of the Haulover Canal Access Road in Merritt Island National Wildlife Refuge is a boat launch for hand-paddled watercraft such as canoes, kayaks, and paddleboards. The road is located just north of the Manatee Observation Deck on Kennedy Parkway.
The Haulover Canal Access Road boat launch puts paddlers into the Indian River. It is open from dawn to dusk unless you are part of a tour operated by an authorized park concessionaire, which can operate at night. Unlike the boat launches within Merritt Island National Wildlife Refuge that allow motorboats, there is no fee to use this launch.
