A second boat ramp at the Apollo Beach district of Canaveral National Seashore lies at the very end of the park road. The ramp, which launches into Mosquito Lagoon, is open to motorboats, canoes, kayaks, and other hand-paddled watercraft. It is only open during the park’s normal business hours. Apollo Beach Boat Ramp #1 at the entrance to the park is open 24 hours a day.

There is a parking area for vehicles with trailers only, so if you have a canoe or kayak and no trailer on your vehicle, you must park in the roadside parking spaces for Beach #5. This is a nude beach, believe it or not, but the nudists’ agreement with the park is to keep their swimsuits on until 150 yards south of the parking area. However, not everyone follows the rules, so no telling what surprises await.

If you are launching a motorboat, I suggest using Boat Ramp #1 unless its parking lot is full. Boat Ramp #1 is a completely paved facility. Boat Ramp #2, which is at the bottom of a fairly steep hill, has a paved driveway that extends down the hill, but the parking lot and the ramp itself are dirt and gravel.

For those paddling to one of the island campsites in Mosquito Lagoon, use either this ramp or the one at River Breeze Park if you are staying at Campsites #11 through #14. Either ramp is about the same distance from the islands.
