Unlike the scenic beauty of America’s most famous parkway, the Blue Ridge Parkway, most of the stops along the Natchez Trace Parkway are history oriented. Some feature historic ruins, buildings, cemeteries, and Indian mounds to actually explore, while others simply mark the spot where an event took place or a building once stood, and an information panel now tells the story.
The following is a list of all stops of historical interest. An * indicates a historical attraction where there is something to actually see, whereas all others offer only information panels, most of which you can read from your car. Mileage location along the Natchez Trace Parkway is given in parenthesis. Mileage is counted from south to north, so the lower the number, the farther south the stop is located.
