Fishing is allowed on all streams, creeks, rivers, and lakes along the Natchez Trace Parkway. State fishing regulations apply. There are no special National Park regulations or permits.
While there are many small streams along the Parkway, there are really only five worthwhile fishing spots, all located in either Mississippi or Alabama. These are listed below with Parkway mile markers in parenthesis.
Reservoir Overlook: Ross Barnett Reservoir, Mississippi (105.6)
River Bend Picnic Area: Pearl River, Mississippi (122.6)
Browns Bottom Pond, Mississippi (286.3)
Bay Springs Lake, Mississippi (293.4)
Colbert Ferry Park: Tennessee River, Alabama (327.3)
There are other fishing opportunities near the Natchez Trace Parkway, but these are not accessed directly from the Parkway. In Mississippi there is Natchez State Park (8.1), Davis Lake, (243.1) Tishomingo State Park (304.5), and J. P. Coleman State Park (320).
In Tennessee there is Pickwick Landing State Park (320).
