The Burns Branch Picnic Area on the Natchez Trace Parkway has four tables but no grills. All are located down a small hill along Burns Branch (a creek). There is a handicap parking spot, but without help, there is no way anyone who can’t walk is going to get to the tables.

In addition to picnic tables, both north and south trailheads for the 20-mile Highland Rim segment of the Natchez Trace National Scenic Trail are located at the Burns Branch Picnic Area. This segment allows horseback riding, and the parking lot is large enough to accommodate horse trailers. If for some reason there is no room for your trailer, two larger parking areas are located farther south on the Natchez Trace Parkway, one off of Highway 7 and the other off of Highway 50.
