A parking area for the Highland Rim segment of the Natchez Trace National Scenic Trail is located on Highway 7 just off the Natchez Trace Parkway near Milepost 416. When exiting the Parkway, the ramp circles back around to the highway. Take a left at the intersection. Signs point the way to the parking lot, which is referred to as the Fly Trailhead Parking Area.
Horses are allowed on the Highland Rim segment of the trail. The parking area is large enough to accommodate horse trailers but is much smaller than the parking lot on Highway 50 just a few miles to the south. If you can’t find a place to park your trailer here, try the Highway 50 lot. Furthermore, no water is provided for the horses at this stop, whereas there is water at Highway 50.
There is a lone picnic table (no grill) situated at the start of the hiking trail.
