Pine Tree Overlook on the Blue Ridge Parkway offers an excellent view into Goose Creek Valley. Sharp Top Mountain can be seen on the left side of the vista (it is the tallest mountain visible). If it weren’t for a giant tree blocking a portion of the view—ironically a pine tree—this would be a 180° vista, but as is, its’s split into two sections. However, if this tree is the pine tree the overlook is named for, then I suppose it can’t be cut down.

This is the same view you get from the Montvale View overlook .2 mile to the south. Both face southeast, so if you are looking for a nice photo, don’t visit in the morning because the sun will be shining in your face. Despite such a great view, the parking area is small, holding maybe six cars at most.
