Green Island is located in outer Boston Harbor. While it is nearly 17 acres in size, all but 2.5 acres are below water at high tide. There is nothing on it other than rocks and shrubs. Because it is a popular spot for bird nesting, the National Park Service discourages visits to the island from April through August.
Green Island is not serviced by the Boston Harbor Islands National Recreation Area public ferry.
