Inside the Prairie Acadian Cultural Center at Jean Lafitte National Historical Park and Preserve
Three Acadian cultural centers have been part of Jean Lafitte National Historical Park and Preserve since 1988. Located throughout the Mississippi River Delta anywhere from 60 to 160 miles west of New Orleans, each one tells the story of the Acadians who settled in different areas of Louisiana after they were exiled from Nova Scotia, Canada, in the mid-1700s.
