A segment of the Natchez Trace National Scenic Trail passes through the Rocky Springs area on the Natchez Trace Parkway. This 6.5-mile segment runs from the Owens Creek Waterfall stop on the Parkway to Fisher Ferry Road. Unfortunately, the trail is closed from Rocky Springs to Fisher Ferry Road due to deteriorated conditions, and based on the signage at Rocky Creek and Owens Creek, things might not be any better. (The photo above is of the Owens Creek trail sign in 2015. Below are the Owens Creek and Rocky Springs signs in 2021.) For complete information on this Rocky Springs segment, please visit the Natchez Trace National Scenic Trail web page here on National Park Planner.
