LOCATION
Picnic Area #28 at Rock Creek Park is located near the intersection of Ridge Road and Broad Branch Road. See the Picnic Areas web page for an interactive location map.

PARKING
Parking is at a roadside pullout that holds a half-dozen vehicles.

AMENITIES
Two picnic tables are located in a large, open field, but there is a shade tree where the tables are grouped. An old stone grill has been fashioned into a fire pit of some sort. Instead of an open side as it once had during its grill days, it now has four sides with a pit in the middle. With your own grill grate it is possible to do some cooking, but your food would be right on top of the charcoal because the pit isn’t very deep.

NOTE: Table and grill count may vary due to theft, breakage, or the addition of new tables and grills. If you plan on hosting a group picnic, be sure to stop by and check out the facility in advance to make sure it will fit your needs. You are allowed to bring your own grill. Used charcoal must be disposed of in the trash cans, not dumped onto the ground.
