Picnic Area #11 at Rock Creek Park in Washington, D. C.

LOCATION
Picnic Area #11 at Rock Creek Park is located on Bingham Drive near the intersection with Oregon Avenue, just east of Picnic Area #12. See the Picnic Areas web page for an interactive location map.

Bingham Road is closed to vehicle traffic. Only those hiking can walk along the road. A sewer renovation began in December 2016. While this was completed, new concerns have arisen and construction has been halted. The last update from the National Park Service was in December 2019. There were no signs of any work in progress when I visited in August 2021. It appears to be a typical government project with no funding, and no funding in sight.

PARKING
Parking is at a roadside pullout that can hold three cars.

AMENITIES
Picnic Area #11 has one picnic table that is situated along a small creek. There are no grills, but you are welcome to bring your own.

NOTE: Table and grill count may vary due to theft, breakage, or the addition of new tables and grills. If you plan on hosting a group picnic, be sure to stop by and check out the facility in advance to make sure it will fit your needs. You are allowed to bring your own grill. Used charcoal must be disposed of in the trash cans, not dumped onto the ground.

RESERVATIONS
No reservations are accepted. All tables are taken on a first come, first served basis. If you wish to reserve a picnic area for a large group at Rock Creek Park, try Picnic Areas #1#6#7#8#9#10#13, or #24.
