There are plenty of views of Grandfather Mountain along the Blue Ridge Parkway, but the mountain has its own stop at Mile Post 306. You do get a clear view of the advertised mountain at the Grandfather Mountain View stop, but trees have blocked the view of most everything else. Unlike the wide vistas you get from other places on the Parkway, this view is narrow and closer to the mountain. I don’t know if that’s a good thing, but it is a little different.
