The mountains at Bald Mountain Overlook on the Blue Ridge Parkway are quite close to the parking area, but the view is not that interesting. What you see in the photos is what you get. A stop at Bald Mountain may be worthwhile in the fall when the leaves are changing, but otherwise just keep on driving.
