Trails: White Oak Flats Trail
Picnic Tables: 1 (no grill)
The scenic view at the White Oak Flats Overlook on the Blue Ridge Parkway is a creek, not a mountain vista. At one time there may have been a clear view of Dancing Creek down below the parking area, but today a dense forest blankets the area. There is a trail you can take down to the creek if you must see it. I did not hike it, but according to the Blue Ridge Parkway Outdoor Guide, it is .2 mile round trip. It runs right past the lone picnic table at this stop. No sign marks the trail, and in the fall when the leaves are down you might not even be able to see it, for not many people hike it.
