The Sheboss Stand stop on the Natchez Trace Parkway marks the general location of a stand (inn) that once operated in this area. All there is at this stop today is an information panel about the stand and one about the Trail of Tears.

For some reason the style of the information panels changed at Sheboss Stand stop. South of here the panels are upright and readable from the car. At Sheboss Stand the information panel is close to being flat, like a slightly sloped table, which means you must get out of your car to read it. At stops like this, which simply mark the site of an event or the former location of a historic building, it is nice to be able to read the info from your car and be on your way. Luckily for you, dear reader, the photo below will save you the trouble of putting forth any effort to obtain the much sought after knowledge about Sheboss Stand.

There is a trail behind the information panel, but this is just a short trail that leads to private property, so don’t bother hiking it.
