Though not on National Park Service property, the privately owned Rocky Springs Methodist Church and its cemetery are open to visitors. It is the only remaining building in existence from the Rocky Springs era. Built in 1837, the church was used regularly until 2010, at which time it was deconsecrated due to dwindling membership. Today it is used for annual homecomings held on the third Sunday in April each year, as well as for wedding and family reunion rentals. Donations are appreciated, and mailing envelopes are available to visitors.

Out back of the church is an old cemetery. Situated under Spanish Moss-draped trees, the place is a little spooky. The following are a few of the tombstones.
