Natchez Trace Parkway | GRINDSTONE FORD AND MANGUM INDIAN MOUND (MP 45.7)

Grindstone Ford and the Mangum Indian Mound on the Natchez Trace Parkway

Grindstone Ford on the Natchez Trace Parkway

There are two Natchez Trace Parkway attractions near Mile Post 46: the Mangum Indian Mound and the Grindstone Ford Trail. As soon as you exit the Parkway you will come to a parking lot next to a field. I have no idea what this parking lot is for, but it’s not the place to park for these attractions. Instead, continue driving through the parking lot, and on the far end is an intersection with another road. To the left is Mangum Mound and to the right is Grindstone Ford.

Note: You must drive under a bridge that has a clearance of 11′ 6″.
