A preserved segment of the original Natchez Trace is located at Mile Post 221 on the Natchez Trace Parkway. The parking area is situated in the middle of the segment. A .1-mile stretch lies to the left, and you can walk to the end and back in about 5 minutes. The right half of the Trace segment is much longer and actually crosses the Parkway. Round trip is .6-mile, which takes about fifteen minutes. No matter which way you go, the trail is wide and flat.

There is also a picnic table at this stop but no grill.
