Picnic tables at the Five Forks Battlefield Visitor Contact Station, Petersburg National Battlefield
Three picnic tables are located at Petersburg National Battlefield’s Five Forks Battlefield Visitor Contact Station. There is also a covered pavilion, but it only has benches. However, if you find yourself here on a hot day and want a bite to eat, the three tables are not only out in the sunshine, they are also situated on a cement pad, which makes a hot day ever hotter. I’d be eating in the shade under the pavilion.

The picnic area at the contact station is definitely no place to hold a group event. If that is you plan, try the Confederate Battery 9 Picnic Area in the Eastern Front unit of Petersburg National Battlefield.
