The Harrison Creek Trail in the Eastern Front Unit of Petersburg National Battlefield runs from the intersection with the Friend Trail (Intersection M) to the intersection with the Attack Road Trail (Intersection B). You can access it directly from the Harrison Creek stop on the Eastern Front Driving Tour (Stop 4), though this puts you on in the middle of the trail. There is no way to directly access its northern or southern trailheads.
Intersection of the Harrison Creek Trail and the Attack Road Trail at Petersburg National Battlefield
I began my hike on the Harrison Creek Trail from the Attack Road Trail and only went .7 mile to the Birney Trail (Intersection R). This section is wide, perhaps a former dirt road, and has a few slight hills, but most of it is pretty flat. Though I did not hike the northern section of the trail, I was in the area north of Siege Road. The terrain in that area is definitely a little more hilly. Also, while called the Harrison Creek Trail, the only place to see the creek is north of Siege Road. The southern half of the trail doesn’t go anywhere near it.
