There are three museums / exhibit areas within Marsh-Billings-Rockefeller National Historical Park and its partner site next door, the Billings Farm and Museum. The largest and most interesting is the museum at the farm, which focuses on Vermont farm life in the late 1800s. There is also an exhibit area at the Carriage Barn Visitor Center that presents detailed biographical information on the three men for whom the National Historical Park is named: George Marsh, Frederick Billings, and Lawrence Rockefeller. A third museum is located a short ways down Mountain Road, one of the carriage roads within the park. Inside a wood storage barn built in 1876 are exhibits about the landscape features of the park, the early days of scientific forestry in the United States, and a collection of antique carriages.
