See the Greenbrier Region web page for an interactive location map.
A picnic pavilion that can be reserved for group functions is located in the Greenbrier Region of Great Smoky Mountains National Park on Greenbrier Road after the Ramsey Prong Road intersection. The road is dirt, very narrow, and full of potholes, but any vehicle can get there—no 4-wheel drive is needed.
The facility can host up to 70 people and includes tables and three grills (charcoal only, no wood), a fireplace inside the pavilion, and a “fancy outhouse,” which is what I call pit toilets located inside a building (as opposed to the plastic, portable toilets found at construction sites). The pavilion is typically open from April through October, though the exact dates change each year. Reservations can be made up to a year in advance online at Recreation.gov or by calling 877-444-6777. You can use the pavilion without a reservation, but you run the risk of getting booted out if a group with reservations shows up.
The only picnic tables are those in the pavilion. A picnic area with individual tables and grills is located just down the road at the Greenbrier Picnic Area.
