A narrow but noteworthy view awaits at that Lone Bald Overlook on the Blue Ridge Parkway. This is a prime example of a view with depth, as there are mountains close enough to the overlook to provide detail and some that fade to gray masses in the distance, plus you can see right down into a valley. The vista is similar to the one at the Roy Taylor Forest Overlook one stop to the south, so there is no need to visit both.
