The Lickstone Ridge Overlook on the Blue Ridge Parkway is 80 percent overgrown, with one giant, bushy tree being responsible for most of the damage. All that remains is a mundane view of the upper portion of some mountains. If the lower halves were visible there might be decent scene, but as is, I suggest driving right on past this overlook.
There are a couple of wayside exhibits about the Cherokee Indians.
