The majority of the first floor of Flat Top Manor is rented by the Southern Highland Craft Guild (SHCG) and serves as a large store for member works. Named the Parkway Craft Center, here you will find high-end jewelry, handbags, folk art, glassware, clay and wood carvings, and other crafts, all made by Guild members, most of who are from the Appalachian Mountains area. During select days in the summer, artists will be on hand demonstrating their crafts.
The SHCG has an even larger store, the Folk Art Center, complete with an art gallery, farther down the Parkway at MP 382. The location at Flat Top Manor is one of five craft shops run by the SHCG.
No photos are allowed to be taken inside the store, which is why I don’t have any here. I don’t know exactly why, but my guess is that they don’t want outside artists getting any ideas.

With a few exceptions, use of any photograph on the National Park Planner website requires a paid Royalty Free Editorial Use License or Commercial Use License. See the Photo Usage page for details.
