The Saratoga Monument is located in Prospect Hill Cemetery near the corner of Burgoyne Street and Cemetery Road (parking is on Cemetery Road). It commemorates the American victory over the British at Saratoga in October 1777. Construction on the 155-foot-tall obelisk began in 1877, and while the monument itself was finished in 1883, it took many years for the bronze sculptures and landscaping to be completed. The official dedication was not held until October 1912. It became part of Saratoga National Historical Park in 1980.

It is possible to climb to the top of the Saratoga Monument for great views of the Hudson River Valley. The monument is typically open mid-June through mid-October on Saturdays and Sundays from 10 AM to 4 PM. Keep in mind that times can always change, so be sure to get the latest schedule on the National Park Service’s official Operating Hours and Seasons web page for Saratoga National Historical Park.
