There is no large picnic area at Saratoga National Historical Park, but there are four spots where guests can have a bite to eat. There is no grilling within the park, so picnic tables are all that is available. Furthermore, all are taken on a first come, first served basis.
There are four picnic tables on the back porch of the Visitor Center, and there is a fantastic view of the Saratoga Battlefield as well. The gap in the trees far in the distance is the location of Freeman’s Farm where much of the fighting took place during both battles at Saratoga on September 19th and October 7th, 1777.

There are two picnic tables, a restroom, and a bicycle repair station at Stop 7 on the Saratoga Battlefield Tour. This is the location of one of two log-and-earth forts the British built after the Battle of Freeman’s Farm, the first battle in the Saratoga area.
The Saratoga National Historical Park brochure shows a picnic table icon at Stop 9 on the battlefield tour, but there is only a single table here. The views of the Hudson River Valley at this stop are spectacular, so if you want a nice place to picnic, this is it.

The picnic table icon should really be placed at Stop 10, for here there are three picnic tables and a trash bin.
