The Watch Hill Marina has 163 slips, both with and without electrical and water hook-ups. Reservations can be made for overnight stays, and non-reserved slips can be taken on a first come, first served basis for hourly stays. Eighteen slips are available for seasonal rentals (mid-May through mid-October). The harbor can accommodate boats with a draft of up to 5 feet, and the slips can handle boats with beams up to 18 feet (though most are 14 feet or less).
On summer weekends the marina is usually full, so it is best to make a reservation. If you arrive and everything is taken, you are welcome to anchor offshore. The water isn’t much deeper than 3 feet, so you can wade in or bring your supplies over on a dinghy. There is no fee for anchoring offshore.
Boaters may stay up to 14 consecutive days (excluding those with a seasonal slip). Some people leave their boats during the week and return to Long Island on the ferry, then come back the next weekend. At the end of the second week they do have to leave, but they are free to return the following weekend for another 14-day stay.
The marina is open seasonally, usually from mid-May through mid-October. For the current schedule and rates see the Love Watch Hill and Sailors Haven website. This is the concessionaire that was hired to run the marina and the Watch Hill Campground.
