STOP 6: GRANT’S HEADQUARTERS

Allow 5 minutes for a visit

The sixth stop on the Appomattox Court House Battlefield Tour is the site where Union general Ulysses S. Grant made his headquarters during the fighting at Appomattox Court House. This stop is not on the park map. If you are driving west from the previous tour stop, the North Carolina Monument, pass the pull-through parking area for a cemetery and then turn into the next parking lot on the left. If you get to some warehouse buildings, you went too far.

There is nothing at the Grant’s Headquarters stop other than three wayside exhibits.
