Cape Point to Ocracoke Island Atlantic Ocean Beaches
There are two very small parking areas within the Frisco Campground at Cape Hatteras National Seashore that are next to boardwalks leading to the beach. The walk is a quarter mile, making these some of the longest walks to the beach in the entire park.
While these parking lots are open to everyone, they are used as overflow parking for campers with extra vehicles, so during the summer season you are unlikely to find parking here. Campers can walk from their campsites—not an easy task given the fact that the campground is quite large—but everyone else should just continue down the road to the Frisco Beach. This is one of the nicest beaches at Cape Hatteras National Seashore, and it has a large parking lot.
Before you get to the campground you will pass Off Road Ramp #49 and a parking lot. I don’t advise trying to get to the beach from here either, as it is an even longer walk. Again, just head down to the Frisco Beach.
