FORT MONROE WALKING TOUR
STOP 8: WATER BATTERY
The Water Battery is located outside the walls of Fort Monroe and was constructed in 1832. The only thing left of it is a powder room and gun mounts.
To get outside the fort and to the Water Battery, walk back down to the street from Battery Gatewood and return the way you came, only this time exiting the fort via the East Gate. Once outside the walls you can walk to the Water Battery for a closer inspection. Once done, walk back towards the East Gate and continue past it to the next stop on the walking tour.
Next Stop: Batteries Parrot and Irwin | Previous Stop: Battery Gatewood
