Wheelchair accessible picnic table on the side patio of the Alibates Flint Quarries National Monument Visitor Center
While not an official picnic area, there are seven tables (no grills) situated outside the Alibates Flint Quarries National Monument Visitor Center. The tables are taken on a first-come, first-served basis. Except for one, they are made of recycled plastic and are in great condition. Modern restrooms are available near the parking lot.
A handicap accessible picnic table is located under the awning on the side patio of the Visitor Center building. It is a longer table with space for a wheelchair on one end.
Two tables are located next to the restrooms and are right beside the accessible parking spot. However, unlike the table on the patio, these do not have an extended top that can accommodate wheelchairs.
Three tables are scattered around the Alibates Gardens. Two are out in the open at the southeastern end of the gardens, and one is under a mesquite tree at the trailhead for the Mesquite Trail. If you happen to visit Alibates Flint Quarries National Monument in the summer, you are likely find mesquite bean pods that have dropped to the ground.

Under a shade tree near the northeastern entrance to the Visitor Center parking lot sits one old, dilapidated wooden picnic table. It is the only one where you might risk a splinter in your behind, so be wary.
