See the Historical Buildings of Yorktown web page for a map of the historical area.

Dr. Corbin Griffin was a physician in Yorktown who was imprisoned by the British and held on a ship anchored in the York River. A reconstructed of his medical shop is located in the historic Yorktown section of Colonial National Historical Park. I am assuming the original building was destroyed either during the Battle of Yorktown, in the fire of 1814 that burned much of Yorktown, or during the Civil War when an explosion blew up the west side of town. I do not know much about the origin of the current building, but the Swan Tavern across the street is also a reconstruction (the original was destroyed during the Civil War-era explosion) that was built in the 1930s, so my guess is that the Medical Shop was also built in the 1930s…but that’s just a guess.

The Medical Shop is used as a rental property by the National Park Service. It is not open to the general public as a tourist house.
