Campsite for disabled visitors at the Valley View Group Campground in Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area
There are four campgrounds within Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area. Dingmans Campground is the most popular, as it is open to individuals, families, friends, and groups. The campground is mainly for tent campers, but there are some RV sites as well. For most visitors, this is the only viable option for camping within the park.
The Mohican Outdoor Center also offers camping for everyone (tents and cabins), though it mainly caters to people hiking the Appalachian Trail.
The Rivers Bend and Valley View campgrounds are for groups of 20 to 40 people (tents only).
There are also riverside campsites for those making trips down the Delaware River of more than 14 miles in one day. These are accessible only by boat.
If none of these options suit you, there are plenty of private campgrounds just outside the park boundary. There is also a campground at Worthington State Forest, a New Jersey state park surrounded by Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area. It can accommodate tent campers and those in RVs. This is where I personally stayed when I was concentrating on activities at the southern end of the park, but I am not reviewing it here on National Park Planner since it is not actually part of the park. I stayed at a private campground when I was doing activities on the north end because Dingmans had already closed for the season.
