GENERAL INFORMATION
Dingmans Campground is located on the Pennsylvania side of Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area. Of all the campgrounds in and around the park, Dingmans is the most centrally located. It is also near the Dingmans Ferry Bridge (tolls apply), so campers can easily travel between Pennsylvania and New Jersey. If you plan to visit all areas of the park, this is your best choice.
CAMPING SEASON
Dingmans Campground opens mid-April and operates through early October. Exact dates change each year, so be sure to get the current schedule on the Dingmans Campground website.
TYPE OF CAMPING
Dingmans Campground can accommodate both tent campers and those in RVs.
NUMBER OF CAMPSITES
There are 134 campsites at Dingmans Campground. Eighty-six of these are for tent camping only (all campsites along the river are for tents only). Ten sites are reserved for RVs, and the rest are for both tents and RVs.
Most campsites can accommodate up to 10 people, but there are some smaller sites for only 5 people and a few larger ones for up to 15 people. One tent is allowed per every five people. There is a per person charge for more than four people at any campsite.
There are also a few group campsites for up to 40 people.
TERRAIN
There are 24 tent campsites along the Delaware River. All others, both RV and tent sites, are located in the forest.
AMENITIES
There are 86 primitive tents-only campsites (no water or electric). These include all riverside campsites. Of the remaining campsites, 10 are for RVs only and have electrical (20 / 30 / 50 amp) and water hook-ups. The rest can accommodate both tent campers and RVs. Ten have electric (20 Amp) and water hook-ups and the rest are primitive.
All campers can use the soccer goals, beach volleyball equipment, corn hole boards, and other games, plus access the Delaware River for launching canoes and kayaks. Furthermore, the McDade Recreational Trail runs right by the entrance to the campground.
Dingmans Campground also has a camp store where guests can buy firewood, ice, food, and basic camping supplies.
RESERVATIONS
Reservations can be made online at the Dingmans Campground Reservation web page or by calling (570) 828-1551. The phone is not checked regularly, so online is the preferred method.
Inter-Agency Senior Pass and U.S. Department of Interior Golden Pass holders receive a 50% discount on up to two nights of their stay. The discount is refunded at check-in. Full payment must be made when making the reservation.
