CAMPING SEASON

The Valley View Group Campground is typically open from mid-April until the end of November.

TYPE OF CAMPING

The Valley View Group Campground is for tent camping only. A group must have at least five campers to reserve a campsite. Each campsite can accommodate up to 25 people.

Access is via vehicle or boat. The campground is located on the Delaware River and has its own canoe launch.

NUMBER OF CAMPSITES

There are five campsites at the Valley View Group Campground. One is for disabled visitors, and it is closest to the restrooms and parking area. Other than that, no one campsite is better than the other, so just pick one and be done with it.

Vehicles are allowed down the campground road to unload passengers and gear, but the parking lot is on Federal Road. The walk between the two is a quarter mile. The exception is for disabled campers. Those with the proper permits can park at the campground. There are two parking spaces.

TERRAIN

All five campsites are on fairly level ground, and all have plenty of shade trees. The camping surface is mainly dirt, which means things can get muddy if it rains. There is some grass, but much of it has been worn away by constant visitor usage.

The campground is next to the Delaware River, though the campsites themselves do not necessarily have views of the water.

AMENITIES

Each campsite is sectioned off from the others by a fence, though there is no privacy between them. Within each camping area are 3 to 4 picnic tables, a fire ring / grill, and a bear box for storing food.

There are two fancy outhouses—portable toilets in a permanent building—with two toilets each. There is no running water at the campground, but there is a modern restroom with water at Bushkill Access just down the road. Campers can drive or take the McDade Trail, which runs right in front of the campground. It is a 1.4-mile hike or bike ride from the campground to Bushkill Access (one way).
