Off Road Ramp #34 at Cape Hatteras National Seashore

Bodie Island to Cape Point Atlantic Ocean Beaches

There is public parking for the Cape Hatteras National Seashore beach at Ramp #34, which is just north of the town of Avon. No Off Road permit is required to park. This beach was closed due to nesting birds when I visited, so I could not take any photos. In the photo above you will see a mom and two kids returning from the beach, so not everyone follows the rules.

The walk to the beach is approximately 350 yards, making it one of the longest walks to the beach from a parking lot on the Atlantic-side of Hatteras Island.
