Ramp 1 Beach Access on Bodie Island, Cape Hatteras National Seashore

Bodie Island to Cape Point Atlantic Ocean Beaches

The first beach access ramp you come to once entering Cape Hatteras National Seashore from the north at Bodie Island is Ramp #1. It is located about 5 miles south of the park entrance on South Old Oregon Inlet Road. Be on the lookout for a Bodie Island Maintenance / South Old Oregon Inlet Road sign prior to the turn (left).

This is a pedestrian access ramp only. There is parking for a couple dozen vehicles, and it is a 75-yard walk to the beach from the parking lot. Once on the beach, take a right to stick to the undeveloped area. To the left are private beachfront homes. These mark the end of the developed section of Bodie Island.
