See the Picnic Areas web page for an interactive location map.

The Twin Creeks Picnic Pavilion is located south of Gatlinburg, Tennessee, on Cherokee Orchard Road, which is the road that eventually leads to the Roaring Fork Motor Nature Trail. This is a rental facility only, not a picnic area that is open to the general public. It is typically available from April through the end of October. The exact opening and closing dates change each year, so be sure to get the latest schedule on the National Park Service’s Picnicking web page for Great Smoky Mountains National Park.

Twin Creeks is the largest group picnicking area in the park, accommodating up to 150 people. There are approximately two dozen picnic tables, two grills (charcoal only, no wood), and a large fireplace / grill that if the opening were a little wider, you could roast a pig in it (as is, you’d have to squish the pig flat to fit it in). It is about the equivalent of three or four of the standard grills. There is also a modern restroom. The pavilion is located near many hiking trails and the scenic Roaring Fork Motor Nature Trail.

Reservations for the Twin Creeks Picnic Pavilion are required and can be made up to one year in advance online at Recreation.gov or by calling (877) 444-6777. When renting the pavilion you have access to it from 7 AM to midnight.
