Will Messer’s barn was built sometime between 1900 and 1905 and was originally located on a farm in Little Cataloochee. If you hike the Little Cataloochee Trail, you will pass the farm site. The barn was moved to its current location in Great Smoky Mountains National Park in 1977 because the original farm area had become overgrown. The restored barn now sits next to the Cataloochee Ranger Station.
