Miller Field at Gateway National Recreation Area is a rectangular park with .4 mile of beach front property on Lower Bay. The National Park Service does not recommend swimming here because there are no lifeguards. I do not recommend swimming here because you might as well go swimming at your local garbage dump. This is no reflection on the National Park Service, and it’s not the fault of park guests. It’s just that Miller Field is next to New York City, and it’s impossible to keep the trash from washing up on the beach each morning.
With a few exceptions, use of any photograph on the National Park Planner website requires a paid Royalty Free Editorial Use License or Commercial Use License. See the Photo Usage page for details.
