The Grand Parade is the sixth stop on a tour of Morristown National Historical Park, and the last stop at Jockey Hollow. A parking area is located along Grand Parade Road. This stop can also be reached by hiking the Yellow Trail.

The actual Grand Parade ground was located beyond the wooded area on the far side of the open field at the tour stop and was six times the size of the existing field. This is where the day’s camp guard—27 men from various regiments—met for inspection and a short drill before heading out to guard the Jockey Hollow camps by forming a ring around the area. In addition, fifty enlisted men and two officers—the picket guard—arrived here every day to await orders. Some days they were sent out on a detail; other days they just waited at the parade ground ready for action.

There is nothing at this stop other than three information panels. You’ll be on your way in no more than five minutes.
