Length: .4-mile loop
Time: 15 minutes
Difficulty: Easy
The Sloan’s Crossing Pond Trail is a boardwalk nature trail located along Mammoth Cave Parkway. It has its own small parking lot that can hold a handful of cars. There are also a couple of picnic tables.
The trail makes a loop around Sloan’s Crossing Pond, though the only clear views of it are at two observation decks. One of these is right at the start (closed for repair when I visited), so if all you want to do is see the pond to perhaps look for wildlife, you don’t have far to go. The second observation deck is a short walk in the counterclockwise direction.

Most of the boardwalk is made from recycled plastic planks, but there are some wood planks remaining. Be aware that when wet, the wood planks are slippery as snot.
