I hiked Murphy’s Lane as part of a loop hike to the summit of Acadia National Park’s Champlain Mountain via the Precipice Trail. This is the final leg of the journey, and it starts at the intersection with the Schooner Head Path. See the Precipice Trail Loop Hike web page here on National Park Planner for details on the hike up to this point.
Length: .3 mile
Time: 10 minutes
Difficulty: Easy
Murphy’s Lane is a short, .3-mile trail that runs through the forest between the Park Loop Road near the Precipice Trail parking lot and Schooner Head Road. When reaching the intersection of Murphy’s Lane from the Schooner Head Path, take a right. There’s not much to be said about the trail other than it is flat and easy, one of the few such trails in Acadia National Park.
When you reach the Park Loop Road, the parking lot is just to your right. This completes the Precipice Trail Loop Hike.
