Gateway National Recreation Area consists of three units located in the states of New Jersey and New York. The park offers a wide variety of outdoor recreational activities including swimming, biking, camping, fishing, hiking, paddling, and picnicking, as well as chances to visit late 1800s and early 1900s military forts and artillery batteries.
