Picnic area at the Jamaica Bay Wildlife Refuge Visitor Center, Gateway National Recreation Area

A small picnic area is located next to the Jamaica Bay Wildlife Refuge Visitor Center parking lot. There is a covered shelter and nine tables, but no grills. All tables are taken on a first come, first served basis. This is not a picnic area where you would have some sort of group picnic, just a place to sit and have a bite to eat while visiting the refuge.
If you want to host a large outing, two picnic areas can be reserved at Fort Tilden, another section of the Jamaica Bay Unit of Gateway National Recreation Area.
