OPERATING HOURS
- Labor Day Weekend through mid-November
- Daily from 9 AM to 5 PM
- All other times of the year
- Weekends from 10 AM to 4 PM
- Closed Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year’s Day.
- Ground of the refuge are open year-round from 6 AM to 9 PM

EXHIBITS
The Jamaica Bay Wildlife Refuge Visitor Center has a small exhibit area that focuses on the creation of the refuge and the animals, plants, and insects that you may see when out walking on the trails.

There is also a meeting room that is often used for art and photography exhibits.

SCHEDULING YOUR TIME
Give yourself a half hour at the Jamaica Bay Wildlife Refuge Visitor Center to talk with a park Ranger about what there is to see and do at the refuge and to read through the exhibits. Don’t forget that the Ranger can answer questions about all of Gateway National Recreation Area, not just the wildlife refuge.
